Working Spirit's Non-Executive Director
Strong Military History
Working Spirit’s non-executive director Heath Mackay has a strong military history in his family including his grandfather who was one of five brothers who served in World War 1.
Lachlan Mackay (1892-1973) was a Gallipoli veteran 2 May – 11 December 1915.
The boy just beginning life, 22 years of age was part of the 9th battalion spent 7 months in Gallipoli & then was sent to France. Medically discharged & returned to Australia in 1917. He arrived back in time for a commemoration unveiling on the one year anniversary at Zillmere State School in Brisbane for his brother Somerled Mackay who was killed in action in France in April 1916.
Inspirational to Heath & many others.
While Heath has never served in the military he has great respect for those that have. He is pleased to have the opportunity to offer his business knowledge to support Karyn & Working Spirit to assist military veterans into employment.
