Working Spirit was pleased to attend Land Forces 2026, held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre from 6–8 October, bringing together Defence, government and industry representatives from across Australia and overseas.
As one of Australia’s largest Defence industry events, Land Forces provided an excellent opportunity for Working Spirit to reconnect with existing supporters, meet new organisations and explore further employment opportunities for veterans, transitioning Australian Defence Force personnel and their families.
Across the three days, our team had valuable conversations with businesses from a wide range of industries, including Defence, engineering, technology and professional services. These discussions provided an opportunity to share how Working Spirit supports employers in identifying and connecting with skilled candidates from the Defence community.
It was particularly encouraging to see many of our existing supporters introducing Working Spirit to their industry contacts, helping us build new relationships and extend our reach.
Through our national Transition Employment Portal (TEP), Working Spirit connects employers with veterans, Defence families and emergency services personnel seeking employment. We also work directly with employers to identify suitable candidates for their vacancies, helping make the recruitment process easier.
Events such as Land Forces are an important part of building these relationships. They allow us to better understand workforce needs, learn about emerging opportunities and ensure the skills and experience of the people we support are recognised across different industries.
We thank everyone who took the time to meet with Working Spirit, as well as those who generously made introductions throughout the event.
We look forward to continuing these conversations and turning new connections into meaningful employment opportunities.
