Field Technicians

We’re currently seeking Field Technicians to join multiple exploration projects across the Pilbara and Gascoyne regions. These FIFO roles from Perth operate on a 2:2 roster (may vary by site) and offer immediate starts.

This is an entry level position designed to provide a genuine pathway into the mining and exploration industry. Whether you’re experienced or coming from a hands-on or Defence background, you’ll gain exposure to drilling operations, sampling programmes, and remote fieldwork.

You’ll be working in a small to medium sized, supportive team in a practical, hands-on role. Camps are small to medium in size and provide comfortable accommodation and essential amenities.

Field & Exploration Activities

·       Assist with exploration programmes including soil sampling, drilling support, and general field activities

·       Collect, label, and dispatch samples ensuring accuracy and traceability

·       Core management including logging, photography, cutting, and sampling

·       Support rig supervision for Diamond and RC drilling operations

·       Prepare materials for further analysis and assist with testing activities

·       Capture and record field data accurately using maps, charts, and digital systems

In addition to the duties outlined above, you may also be required to perform such other duties as directed by your supervisor or management provided these are within your competency or training.

Camp & Operational Support

• Assist in the setup, maintenance, and demobilisation of remote exploration camps
• Perform camp administration tasks as required
• Manage consumables including fuel, water, and site supplies
• Conduct stocktakes and coordinate resupply activities

• Perform physically demanding work in remote, high‑temperature environments
• Work 12‑hour shifts on a continuous roster (2:2 FIFO or as required)
• Operate vehicles and machinery safely under varying conditions
• Sustain prolonged periods of standing, walking, lifting, and manual handling
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail in data recording and sample handling
• Contribute to team decision-making through effective communication and collaboration
• Maintain strong operational relationships with geologists, drill crews, camp personnel, and contractors
• Identify, assess, and manage operational and safety risks
• Participate in daily pre-starts, hazard identification, and safety initiatives
• Maintain high standards of safety, environmental compliance, and housekeeping
• Support asset inspections, load restraint, and basic maintenance tasks
• Assist with vehicle operations on public and site roads

• Australian citizenship or valid working rights
• Current Australian manual driver’s licence
• Basic First Aid Certificate
• National Police Clearance
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical (including drug & alcohol testing)

• Previous mine site or exploration experience (preferred but not essential for Defence veterans)
• Remote or FIFO experience desirable
• Exposure to RC or Diamond drilling desirable
• Experience with sample handling or field-based activities advantageous

• Interstate applicants must arrange and pay for their own travel to/from Perth
