Our client is looking for a Mechanical Fitter – Veteran Owned Company who take pride in helping veterans move into civilian careers.
Conduct mechanical fitting trade tasks relevant to your qualifications and experience
• Actively support Leading Hands/Supervisors in the management of, and completion of Task Packs,
inclusive of Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS)
• Provide daily updates to Leading Hands on the status of job packs you are responsible for
• Identify mandatory task requirements through critical review of Work Instructions, Repair Specifications
and Repair Plans
• Inform Leading Hands/Project Supervisors when ITP’s do not adequately reflect the identified task
requirements
• Inform Leading Hands/Project Supervisors when ITP’s and SWMS do not adequately capture the necessary
safety assessments and associated mitigations
• use consumables and parts wisely, minimising waste and ensuing value for money is sought for the company and
its customers
• Inform Leading Hands of resource shortages required to complete delegated tasks
• Conduct High Risk tasks within scope of High-Risk Work Licence
• Support the delivery of mechanical fitting task across all companies projects to ensure conformance to Client
requirements and specifications
• Provide constructive feedback to Leading Hands/Supervisors on the performance of subordinates
• Report on WHS issues encountered onsite
• Assist in WHS consultation by providing feedback through Pre-Start meetings, Toolbox Talks and Safety
Stand-downs
• Contribute to maintaining a functional Marine Maintenance Workshop
• Comply with Client and Site requirements as detailed in Client Inductions, Site Inductions and as directed
by Client Safety Officers
• Actively and positively participate in site inspections, audits, and reviews conducted by the companies HSEQ
Department, client HSEQ Departments, and third-party accreditation bodies
• At all times, do all that is reasonably practicable to ensure your own safety, and the safety of people
around you.

Qualifications
Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (MEM30205) or higher
• Construction white card
• C class driver’s licence
• CPPFES2005A – Demonstrate first attack firefighting equipment (HWS) – (desirable)
• RIIWHS204E – Work safely at heights (WAH) – (desirable)
• RIIWHS202E – Enter and work in confined spaces (CS) – (desirable)
• TLILIC0005 – Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work (EWP) – (desirable)
• TLILIC0003 – Licence to Operate a forklift truck (LF) – (desirable)
• High Risk Work Licence – (desirable).
