Trade Planner Roles, Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3, Mechanical, Electrical or Fabrication Perth Based or SA based.
A strong candidate for the Trade Planner position would be an experienced ADF trade-qualified member, ideally from the Royal Australian Navy, with a mechanical, electrical, marine or engineering background. Candidates from the Australian Army or Royal Australian Air Force with comparable trade, maintenance or engineering experience would also be encouraged to apply.
The role would suit someone who has worked in a maintenance, engineering, technical or heavy-industry environment and is experienced in interpreting technical documentation, drawings, specifications and work instructions and translating these into clear, accurate maintenance activities.
ADF personnel are particularly well suited to this type of role due to their experience working within highly regulated environments, strict safety and quality requirements, maintenance systems and technical procedures. Navy candidates with experience around vessels, submarines, marine systems or dockyard maintenance would be particularly relevant, while Army and Air Force candidates with transferable mechanical, electrical, engineering or maintenance experience should also be considered. You will no longer be on the tools for this role and all computer training provided by our client.
The ideal candidate would bring:
- A recognised trade qualification or engineering qualification
- Experience in maintenance planning, technical trades or engineering environments
- The ability to read and interpret technical drawings, engineering specifications, manuals and work instructions
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety, quality and accuracy
- Experience maintaining equipment, machinery, vehicles, vessels, aircraft or complex technical systems
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience working within structured maintenance management systems and procedures
- The ability to work collaboratively with engineers, tradespeople, production teams and contractors
- Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel
- The ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement and seek assistance when required
This position provides a strong opportunity for a Defence trade professional to transition into a civilian career while continuing to use the skills developed throughout their military service. The ability to follow detailed technical procedures, identify and resolve issues, maintain accurate records, work safely in high-risk environments and operate as part of a disciplined technical team are all highly transferable to the Trade Planner role.
