You may come from a farming, agricultural, construction, heavy industrial, manufacturing, transport, warehousing or other physically demanding background and be looking for a long-term career opportunity. No previous underground mining experience is required.
Reporting to the Underground Shift Supervisor, you’ll play an important role in supporting our Development and Production teams while learning the skills required for a successful career in underground mining.
Job 1 – Entry Level Nipper,
your day-to-day will include:
- Supporting underground development and production crews with materials handling and mine services activities
- Transporting personnel, tools, equipment and consumables throughout the underground operation
- Assisting with vent bag installation, service extensions and general underground support tasks
- Performing manual labour and physically demanding work in a safe and productive manner
- Maintaining high housekeeping standards across the underground environment
- Conducting pre-start inspections and ensuring equipment is operated safely and efficiently
- Identifying and reporting potential hazards
- Working collaboratively with supervisors and team members to achieve production targets
- Learning underground mining processes and developing your skills through on-the-job training
Job 2 – Entry Level Underground Truck Operator and learn the skills required to operate underground haulage equipment in a safe and productive environment. This role offers an excellent pathway into underground mining, with ongoing training, development opportunities and the chance to build a rewarding career with a growing operation.
Reporting to the Mining Shift Supervisor, you’ll:
- Safely operate underground articulated haul trucks in accordance with site procedures and traffic management plans.
- Haul ore and waste material from development and production areas to designated stockpiles and tipping locations.
- Conduct pre-start inspections and complete routine equipment checks.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and general mine services.
- Identify hazards and actively contribute to a safe working environment.
- Work collaboratively with operators, service crews, supervisors and maintenance personnel to achieve production targets.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to Evolution Mining’s values and safety culture.
This role operates on a 7 days on, 7 days off roster working 12-hour shifts.
