Graduating from the Prince Charles Lead Your Own Business Program for defence members sparked the inception of Working Spirit in 2016. This organization is dedicated to facilitating the transition of military veterans and their families into civilian employment. Karyn's extensive background in both the Australian Army and the Royal Australian Air Force equips her with invaluable insights into the unique needs of veterans during their transition.

Karyn's unwavering commitment extends not only to founding Working Spirit but also to her
continued service in the Royal Australian Air Force Reserves. Her international experience
underscores her dedication to understanding veteran employment challenges.

In 2023, Karyn
was honoured with The New Mission Award by the Prince’s Trust Australia – Beyond Service Award.
